The BGY Story

Parenting is hard. At least thats what we thought. I mean how do you successfully raise a child? We think thats a questions that many parents think about and there are a myraid of books and resources on. Who has the time for all that though?

Thats when we came up with the idea of an easy curriculum of consistent messaging for children to teach them character and culture as they grow.

How it Works

Levels

Introduction ( 0 - 2 year olds). The first series is geared towards very young children to hear words associated with the story while capturing their attention with the illustrations.
Familiarization (1 - 3 year olds). This series introduces young children to the characters and basic story, often adapted to be appropriate and relatable to children.
Character Focus (2 - 4 year olds). This series helps children get to know the important characters better.
The Full Story, Mostly (3 - 6 year olds). This series adds more detail to the Familiarization series version and hews closer to the original story.

All BGY books draw from the same set of characters so your child can become familiar with them.

You may ask, "What is familiar about different characters from different stories?"

Well most fictional characters fit a common archetype, or recurring set of traits throughout literature, and each one of our characters is the same archetype in every book.

Personality Colors

Sure. Most of literature has common character types, but not the same characters! Thats true. There are many ways to portray an archetype. Think of all the heros in your favorite stories. They are not the same character, yet they are same archetype, "The Hero".

What distinguishes many characters of the same archetype is personality. And, like archetypes, there are many common personalities across literature.

The color of every BGY character reflects the personality of the character.
